Michi concluded the infrastructure construction part and is now working on the new GTW
gateway command.
Michi (molp)
This week I wrapped up the construction part of gateways and infrastructure in general. The last missing part was the notification that lets players located on the respective planet know that an infrastructure projected was completed. As mentioned in earlier devlogs (#446) gateways can (for now) only be built by government appointed contractors. Gateways are public infrastructure that has to be built and maintained by the local governments. We do have plans to remove this restriction in the future and allow corporation-managed and even company-managed infrastructure. But one step after the other.
I then went on to actually add the GTW
command that'll have all the necessary information about gateways. There are several options to use this command. If it is used without any parameter it will show the complete list of all known gateways, including such that are being constructed:
The list shows the location of the gateway, where it is linked to, who operates it and since when it exists. Clicking on the name or 'view' button will open a specific gateway. This is just a work-in-progress screenshot, I expect to change this command quite a bit:
Alternatively the GTW
can also be used with a system or planet address and will show all gateways at the specified location.
Of course there are lots of questions regarding the gateway feature that cannot be answered in our devlogs, but Archiel has been so kind to open a topic in the forums where we'll answer your questions.
As always: we'd love to hear what you think: join us on Discord or the forums!
Happy trading!
