8/26/2024 - devlog
After his vacation, Michi met with Martin at the simulogics HQ.
Michi (molp)
I am back from my vacation. I didn't have much time on Monday and Tuesday, but still managed to continue to work on the Gateway Information Command I wrote about in devlog #447. More on that in the next devlogs.
Tuesday afternoon, I hopped on a train to simulogics HQ to meet Martin. He asked for a two day meetup, so we would have plenty of time to talk about user interface UI and user experience UX design for.. AirlineSim. Yes, you read that right, not Prosperous Universe but AirlineSim.
AirlineSim is much older than Prosperous Universe and for a while now Martin is focusing on its development. It is now available on Steam as well, many new (core) features are in development. Due to its age and lack of in-house frontend designer, the UI looks a bit outdated though. Martin wants to change that, and we also talked about the experiences we made with Prosperous Universe in regard to the improvements of the early game we did a while back. We think that an in-game tutorial (and maybe even tours, like the one we have in Prosperous Universe) could benefit the game a lot.
Of all the games out there, we chose Football Manager 2024, as an example, both for UI and UX design, and spent quite a while analyzing how this amazingly complex game deals with these issues. It was eye-opening to be honest. Martin also writes a devlog about the AS development, so I recommend you have a look at his current devlog.
Unfortunately I must have caught a virus a few days earlier and caught a fever, which made the trip back home very uncomfortable. I had to call in sick on Friday, but I am feeling way better in the meantime.
As always: we'd love to hear what you think: join us on Discord or the forums!
Happy trading!
