Michi details the final leg of the New Player Journey, which focuses on trading at the CX.
Michi (molp)
This week, I was finally able to finish the second and third part of the New Player Journey. As stated in the last devlog, the second part is about space flight and the final third part is about trading at the commodity exchanges.
The corresponding tour uses a screen like the one below to teach new players about the basics of commodity exchanges:
The screen is customized for each faction, so that it will always show the most relevant commodity exchange. The tour starts with explaining how to find a specific commodity in the CX
command, moves on to order books and how to place an order. It explains how CXOS
can be used to manage orders and what happens to recently bought items if there is no inventory space left.
At the end players will receive the last introductory contract that will ask them to buy or sell something at a CX.
We also introduced a change to the rewards that these introductory contracts have had and added some building materials. If a player fulfills all of these contracts, they will have enough building materials to build their next production building. The rewards are different for each starting profile, so a Victualler for example will have enough materials for an additional farm.

Last week while I was in the US, I was able to make a guest appearance on SeaPear's podcast "Pear Talks PrUn." We had a nice chat about simulogics and Prosperous Universe, and I hope you guy will enjoy the episode once it's available! It was a lot of fun talking to the guys about what they loved most about the game and answering questions about some of simulogics business operations.
In other news, there should be another sponsored video tomorrow, which will be a dedicated video showcasing the game for new players. A big thanks to everyone that helped out the YouTuber on Discord and other places!
As always: we'd love to hear what you think: join us on Discord or the forums!
Happy trading!
