This week, the testing phase of the gateways has begun on the test server.

This week we started testing the construction of gateway infrastructure on the test server. It started with the deployment of the current development version to the test server. I then adjusted a few overrides, so the bill of materials will not require expensive construction materials, but instead consists only of a handful of mineral construction granulate. Ship flight happens at around a factor of 1000x, so transporting the materials to the construction sites is fast.

So far, three gateways have been built. We already found quite a few bugs, quirks and display issues. I fixed a few of them and created tickets for the others. One thing we noted is that the natural identifier for gateways doesn't really do a good job helping distinguish the gateways, which is why I decided to add a new motion component that allows to name infrastructure. It is not yet deployed to the test server, but that will happen later this week.

Here is what the naming motion component looks like:

After a name change, the new name can immediately be used for location queries, etc:

Yes, I know, it says "Tannhauser II" in one screenshot and "Tannhauser III" in another, I took the screenshots on different days, and there has been a name change in between.

Unfortunately, it wasn't as easy to override the type and number of necessary upkeep materials, so I will provide them manually later this week. This will then allow us to test the upkeep and fuel provisioning mechanics and eventually the gateway jumps.

This week we also have a fresh monthly economic report for you:
