Michi talks about releasing the latest mission planning changes alongside a few other changes and bugfixes in a maintenance release.
Michi (molp)
I was able to finish the mission planning and pathfinding, as described in the last few devlogs (#487, #488 and #489). At least for the existing model that is, the gateways still need to be integrated into the new system. We tested the new flight system on the test server over the course of the last days. It works well, and we would like to see how it does in production.
So we decided to release a small maintenance release, that includes the new flight system as well as a few other things. As you can imagine, our backlog ever increases with bug reports, small and big improvements, feature requests, and more. I decided to take some time and go through them and see how many I can implement, in order to release them with the changed flight system.
Here are a few items from the list, I managed to implement last week:
We’re going to increase the starting capital of newly found companies to address inflation. Faction contract rewards will also increase a bit, to make them more attractive for new players.
The commodity exchange brokers keep their data for 180 days at the moment, but given that the universe is almost 1600 days old, we'll increase that to 365 days and add a '1y' period option for the charts. Please note though, since we don't keep historical data, the charts won't have data older than 180d in the beginning.
I added two new columns to the 'SYSI' (system information) command, that will make it easier to judge what kind of planets a system has. Here is a comparison between the old and new version:
We’re also adding labels to shipment inventory items with their destination address to make it easier to load them into the right ship's cargo hold:
There are also a few minor bug fixes, and I will have another go at sieving through the backlog for potential issues that can fix/implement this week. As usual, the full release notes can be found on the forums.
