Michi is working on performance improvements and we have a date for the upcoming balancing changes.
Michi (molp)
Just a quick update from me this week. There have been two public holidays, and I have been away on a family vacation, so last week was and the coming week will be rather short.
While hunting down last week's performance problem, I encountered another memory issue that I fixed with the maintenance deployment this morning. While not as impactful and visible as the commodity exchange brokers, it will save some memory nonetheless.
I also fixed a problem with the unpacking of consumable bundles that has been reported on the weekend.
Last week I continued my work on the user interface side of the upkeep contracts. I showed the screenshot below a while ago, but back then it was just a mockup. I am now filling it with life, using actual data from the server.
I also added a new component that shows the responsible contractor(s) for each period. It's an idea I had to make it easier for governments to see the current status regarding upkeep contracts. Instead of going through all contracts to get an overview who has been contracted for which upkeep period, the table gives an overview of past, current and future upkeep phases.
This is not quite done yet, I think it might be beneficial to merge the contractors and contracts columns to a single one, to make it more readable. This will be even more important when having multiple contractors per upkeep period.
I also want to point you to the forums once more: We are planning a balancing release in May and just added a few more items to the list. We'll integrate balance changes to the population as well as some minor recipe changes. Find out more on the forums.
As always, we'd love to hear what you think: join us on Discord or the forums!
Happy trading!
