This is going to be a quick devlog. I had most of the week off to work on the house.

Unfortunately, at the worst time, the servers decided to act up. At first, I didn't notice it, as I was working outside. After lunch Martin and Fabian contacted me and I had a look. The navigation system was down, several players couldn’t log in, and some of the administration centers and local markets didn't load.

Usually, if a single entity, like an administration center, doesn't load, it isn't too bad, and only the players directly interacting with it really notice. But in this case, the servers felt sluggish and slow. This is due to the way we designed the system. In case an entity can’t be loaded, it will try again and again and again. Since many entities had problems, this lead to a higher load and thus slow response times.

I was able to fix the worst issues within an hour and a few restarts later the navigation system and local markets were up again. Today I had another look into the logs and fixed the rest. Now everything runs smoothly again.

Unfortunately, we still don't know the root cause of the issues, but we'll investigate further.

As always: we'd love to hear what you think: join us on Discord or the forums!

Happy trading!
