This week Michi talks about his work on contexts, a maintenance release is around the corner and a new economic report is out!
Michi (molp)
With the work on the internationalization project being finally done, I now have time to continue to work on other things. Last year I wrote about contexts (#405, #406 and how they enable a member of a government to have separate screens for their company and their government. These context also allow to re-use existing commands like FINLA
(liquid assets): In the company context you'll the cash you have in your company, in the government context you'll the cash reserves of the government.
Since not all commands are available in all contexts, we need a way to restrict access, when a command is not available. We choose to use a similar mechanism as we have for PRO-exclusive commands. If a command is not available in a context it will be rendered like this:
Sometimes it might make sense as a member of the government to see the content of a command, but it should not be possible to perform any actions. In that case we only restrict the buttons:
When we released the German version recently we didn't ship any new features or bugfixes. Instead, we promised to do that with a separate maintenance release. That release is just around the corner now. The release notes mention February 6th, that is optimistic, but not impossible :)
The highlight of the maintenance release surely are the new filters for CONTS
(list of contracts) and CXOS
(commodity exchange orders). With them, you will be able to create highly customized lists adjusted to your screen's or workflow's needs.
We also have a fresh monthly economic report ready for you. This time we added construction parts and materials:
