This week the whole simulogics team met at a conference hotel to plan for the upcoming year.

Simulogics is a distributed team. There is no office where we regularly meet or even go to work every day. So from time to time we meet in person at a nice conference hotel and talk about our plans for the future.
The outline for Prosperous Universe is already carved out: release the german version, release the politics changes, release the infrastructure changes. This is due to the fact that we are receiving funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
While the outline is clear, there are a lot of details that we needed to talk about. While the translation of the game itself is almost done (we received some very helpful feedback from players testing the translation on the test server), there are other resources that need translation as well. As game developers we have two options to increase the amount of players in the game: we can make the game itself better or more appealing, think features, graphics, events, translations, etc and players will stay longer in the game. Or we can increase the number of players that sign up for the game.
Adding a german translation will do both. It makes the game more appealing for german speaking players, and they will keep playing for longer. But the translation can also help increase the game's visibility for players searching for a German game and will make it more appealing to join, thus driving the sign-up numbers up.
This is why we decided to translate additional resources: the Steam page, the website, the account system and the handbook are the most prominent examples. We are confident that this will help to improve the registrations and player retention.
To increase visibility we are also planing a marketing campaign early next year, where we want to sponsor a few german-speaking youtubers to feature the game in one of their videos. If you have a favorite german-speaking YTer who could be a fit, please let us know!
