The next maintenance release is schedule for this Wednesday!
Michi (molp)
The next maintenance release is right around the corner, and naturally I was busy preparing it last week. We will release the update on Wednesday, March 8th. The release notes topic on the forum has all the details. If you are a supporter with access to our test server, you can already have a look at the new features, or try out the new introductory contracts and tours.
I also fixed, hopefully, a nasty bug that allowed players to run for governor on two planets at the same time. This should not be possible and leads to all kinds of problems. It is an edge case, but still, some players managed to do it. We have had similar issues in the past and this is one of the bugs that haunt me :D I hope I finally fixed it for good!
Besides that, there is not much to tell this week. When I wasn't busy with preparing the release, I was working on internal stuff where I cannot really go into the details.

Last week's main focus was getting things off the ground for the next Prosperous Universe trailer, which I have alluded to in the past. We were able to coordinate with our art director and other members of the team to really dig into what we wanted to achieve with this new trailer. Like I have stated before, it's really important that we create a trailer that showcases the actual game and gives players a true sense of what it is like to play rather than using a lot of stylized animations to create excitement. We also do not want to create a boring trailer, so it will be a case of finding the right balance of showcasing the genuine gameplay experience and generating intrigue.
Also, don't forget to choose a planet for the community event "Name THAT Planet" where you can vote for your favorite planet to receive a name! We will hold another poll for the actual name once the planet is decided on. Thanks for participating!
As always: we'd love to hear what you think: join us on Discord or the forums!
Happy trading!
