Michi and Martin recount their meeting at simulgoics HQ, and Nick has some new marketing ideas for PrUn.
Michi (molp)
This week has been rather unusual, filled with so many things, I didn't really get into a proper development flow.
It started with a short visit to simulogics HQ on Monday and Tuesday. Martin and me deliberately decided to not talk about any game design topics as this often ends in hour-long discussions and brainstorming :) Instead, we focused on the task at hand, a deep dive into the technology we are using for the mobile UI and desktop client.
The rest of the week I worked on many different tasks, including the new map prototype. I also adjusted the market maker prices for various resources, as outlined in the last update's release notes. The final adjustments will happen this week.
There have also been quite a few bug reports lately, and I am trying to look into them as quickly as possible to be able to decide what needs fixing ASAP and what can be delayed until the next maintenance release. There is an especially weird bug with the population of AU-605c
, where a player has set up a base, but the population dropped to zero without any indication as to why. I am currently trying to figure out what's going on.
Unfortunately, we do see a few players using multiple accounts to benefit their main account. This is a clear violation of the guidelines and we are not going to tolerate it. Thanks to all the players that reported the recent multi account activities!

Transmission 0 is finally complete! Thanks to Julian's hard work, we can finally get this video up, and I'm hoping that it will help new players get some ideas on what do when starting up the game if they don't feel like immediately joining the Discord. Thanks to all of you that helped me out with Asteroid Day last week as well. If you haven't seen our new artwork, make sure to look at our Twitter and Facebook for some awesome space art.
As I mentioned last week, I'm going to be looking at getting the game mentioned on some podcasts so please send me a message if you have some favorite podcasts that you think would work for us. I am also going to be looking into Reddit ads since that platform is 1. A lot cheaper than Facebook or Google and 2. The preferred platform for most of our player base back when I did some market research last year. Also, don't forget about the "Name A Planet" community activity we've got going on now!

Hi there! Long time no see! As Michi already mentioned, we met at simulogics HQ for a brief development meeting primarily focused on the mobile UI, or rather, the technical changes required to make it work. While not as visible as our work on the desktop version of the game, the mobile UI project has been going on for a long time now and is entering its final phase. As always towards the end of a project, nothing seems like it will be ready in time, but all hands are on deck, and we hope to have an initial playable version ready for people with the "Test server access" perk over the coming weeks (maybe months, don't want to over-promise). So stay tuned!
As always: we'd love to hear what you think: join us on Discord or the forums!
Happy trading!
